Amazon "Top 50 Reviewer" & "Hall of Fame" recipient give it 5 out of 5
Reading this initial novel for young adults by Australian author Calvin Gomes gives notice that there may be a successful new young adult fantasy series on the horizon...The quality of Gomes' writing is as crystalline clear as the finest engineering renderings...For lovers of young adult fantasy this book rates very high on the scale of competitors. Calvin Gomes likely has a major secondary career in the making.
Good start to a series! Can't wait for the next one
Overall: 4.5 stars [out of 5]. I enjoyed the plot a lot, as it had many twists and turns, and you were constantly wondering, “Who is the spy?” The only complaint I have is that there was a lot about religion, and that that the battle scenes seemed a bit dull. However, this did not really affect the overall pleasantness of the book. I will be looking forward to the next books in this trilogy, as I will surely read the next books. One thing I really liked was the world, and how the characters seemed to make smart decisions that were more realistic then other fantasy books I have read.
5 out of 5 Stars - Adventure of Light
...This adventure has an enjoyable pace that keeps you interested in the story, which is full of swordplay and magic. Along with the interesting developments of suspicious characters, this book makes a great tale that makes me look forward to the rest of the series.
Great story for young and young at heart
...The writing is good, the story moves along at a nice pace and the author develops the character and backstory for them and their quest very well. The descriptive prose is awesome and what is most impressive is it seems he actually thought about what a real life response would be to many of the situations the characters find themselves in.
...Bravo Calvin Gomes on your first, of what i hope will be many books set in Caladon. I recommend this one wholeheartedly to everyone.
Griffin lights this novel up big time
There is a whole array of stellar characters in the book, each with their own unique and interesting personality. The chemistry they have with each other is sensational. The breath taking story line itself and the events that unfolds is very imaginative, suspenseful and action packed.
The books really hooks you in deep and you start feeling the emotions the characters feel as they struggle with suspicions of one another, personal conflict, past demons and the pressure of their whole nations weight on their shoulders.
But hey, it's not all about fear, stress and sadness. Best friend Cassius is always there for a laugh and romance is in the air at times. I would strongly encourage you to read this magnificent novel, you will be pleasantly surprised.
Light is within
Loved the book.Good description and felt like I was standing right in the scene feeling the story. Very like today's concept of believing in the power within oneself ,feeling the light. will recommend it to friends and especially young adults.I am not one who enjoy fantasy but was recommended by a friend to read and I enjoyed it.I can't wait for the next one and hope there is a next one.

You'll enjoy the journey - 5 out of 5 stars
...The novel is a great read, it's fast paced and beautifully described. The author, Calvin Gomes writes well. His descriptions are clear and decisive. You get a distinct sense of the character's world and you are drawn into, perhaps pulled into the story, as you root for Griffin and Cassius along the way. You are hooked from the very start, and will find that you cannot put the book down.
Great Find for YA lovers
Legend of the Orbis is an epic fantasy story. There are swords and magic, a group of travelers with a huge responsibility, and battles between the Light and the chosen god of the bad guys, called Molloch.
I'm not fun [sic] of YA, but I enjoyed this book. The characters are well rounded, there are some special moments where the nature of one side and the other shows, and we get to see how similar it plays in our own plane of existence.
Overall, it is a great adventure to come along.
A complex and multi-layered story - 5 out of 5 Stars
A page-turning fantasy novel that moves beyond 2D plot lines to weave a complex and thought provoking magical adventure. Be warned...this story hooks you in...first class storytelling!
Can still picture it...
I can still picture the darkness and shadows…back to boring ethics class now.

Fantasy fiction at its best
Peace had reigned on Cronia for 3000 years. Serenity is lost in one day and two student warriors are put to the test. Calvin Gomes has created a singularly unique world where Sorcery is the order of the day and young warriors get an opportunity for greatness....
This is a great fantasy epic that can be enjoyed by young adults and adults. There are mystical creatures, fearsome forces of darkness and heroes with heart to keep you engaged for hours. This is one you should definitely put on your "to read" list today.
Thank the Light for that
This is a well written novel that allows the reader to use their imagination throughout the scenes. Calvin writes fast paced action scenes that do not steal the reader's ability to flow with the sequences. Though he gives us a view of each character's struggles, he also writes in such a way that a reader feels like they are in the heat of battle alongside them.
The tension, suspense, relationships and dialogue are realistic and emotional. As Calvin develops the characters, we too find our suspicions or allegiances with some and not others.
But one thing is certain, I highly recommend this novel to anyone who loves action and humour. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense and tension. Basically I highly recommend this book for a good read and an even better adventure.
